Debt collection and Bankruptcy law
Foss legal ǀ finance provides advice to individuals and companies in relation to debt collection, debt settlement and payment difficulties. The firm undertakes negotiations with creditors with the aim to achieve a permanent solution to exiting difficulties. Advice in this field relates to moratoriums, compositions and bankruptcy proceedings, settlement agreements, claim filings, settlements, collection and litigation as well as dispute resolution.
Business and Company law
Foss legal ǀ finance provides comprehensive services relating to business and company law, to individuals and companies. The services include advisory in relation to banking, securities trading, company formations, financing, shareholders agreements, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers etc.
Foss legal ǀ finance has decades of experience as in-house counsels and experts in asset management and corporate finance in banks and financial services companies. The employees of the firm have also acted as members of the board of directors in domestic and foreign companies.
Criminal law and Procedure
Foss legal provides criminal defense services in all kinds of criminal cases as well as providing representation for victims of crimes. Those subject to criminal proceedings are in all cases entitled to criminal defense, both under investigation and before the courts.
Foss legal has extensive expertise in criminal cases and criminal law with staff having been lecturers in criminal procedure at the Law Faculty of the University of Reykjavík.
Corporate finance and Restructuring
Foss legal ǀ finance has a vast experience in the field of corporate finance. The firm provides a wide range of services such as financial advisory, assistance in relation to financing, financial restructuring, company acquisitions and disposals, mergers and acquisitions and any form of contracts relating thereto.
Financial and operational assessment
Foss finance provides clients with general business assessment, such as with general assessment of operations, assistance with operational problems as well as an assessment of business opportunities. The firm furthermore provides general advice in relation to a wide range of financing of companies, investments and projects, including assessment of available financing options.
Legal representation and Human rights
Foss legal provides individuals, interest groups and companies advice on matters related to the protection of human rights, whether established by law, the constitution or International treaties.
Family and inheritance law
Foss legal provides a variety of services in relation to family and inheritance law, such as drafting of prenuptial agreements, divorce and separation, custody and visitation rights, drafting of testaments, estate-related matters, matters related to legal capacities etc.
Real Estate
Foss legal ǀ finance provides services in relation to purchase and sale of properties as well as advice on disputes in relation to such transactions as a result of default or defects. Furthermore, the employees of the firm have extensive experience in operations of property companies, restructuring of property companies as well as acquisition and sale of such companies. The firm also provides advice on planning law, housing co-operation as well as rental laws.
Corporate M&A and transaction services
Foss legal | finance provides clients comprehensive services in relation to acquisitions, sale and merger of companies. This includes services relating to assessment of investment opportunities, carrying out due diligence, assessment of financing possibilities, negotiations and drafting of agreements and oversight of transactions completion.
Dispute Resolution
Foss legal provides comprehensive services in relation to dispute resolution. Such services include proceedings in the Icelandic Courts, as well as mediation, proceedings in arbitration and before public authorities.
